ReadMe for MP series of BMS exes.

First off, these exes DO NOT HAVE ALL THE FEATURES OF BMS. They are purely SP3 plus MP fixes ONLY. The reason for this is that the BMS exe is in such a state of change that it was hard to nail down whether a crash or stutter was related to a graphics type fix or a MP fix. So we've gone back to SP3 which is relatively stable and most of its bugs are well known. Squads have developed specific procedures to get around some of the more well-known bugs. Hopefully, we can get enough testing done to fix some of those bugs and eventually enjoy them in the mainstream BMS exe.

Install:

To install you need a plain SP3 installation. Just unzip the FalconSP_MP3.exe into your Falcon4 directory and run it instead of the original SP3 exe.

Improvements:
MP3, all of MP2 plus
1. -bandwidth is now fixed to work the same as the UI options. For example, -bandwidth 33 is equal to selecting the 33.6 Modem option. The formula for "-bandwidth x" is x*100 to calculate the bytes/second limit.

2. Force on Force fix. Yes. Finally the main cause of things not working properly in online Force on Force prescripted or Chess TEs has been found. You should now be able to schedule flights on EVERY client connected instead of just relying on the host, or one particular client to schedule all the flights. Which means both sides (red and blue) will be able to have their own person scheduling flights.

3. Compatibility break with SP3. I've changed the variable that gives Falcon packets their network versioning. So now, SP3 and MP3 will no longer work together at all. They packets will simply be dropped. So you will immediately see if everyone is running the same exe.

4. Attempt at Ramp Start Fix. Many have reported issues with being able to use Ramp Start with an online game. Especially with a dedicated server. First attempt at fix.

5. CTD fixes.
MP2
1. Position updates have been changed to save bandwidth. Things should be smoother when flying close formation and the like. Its not perfect yet. There are reports of things not going right when REALLY close to another human player but that is similar in results to SP3 tests.

2. Reliable messages should be a ton more reliable. There are numerous fixes to reliable messages. Some simple, some complex. But in general, things should be as reliable as possible. You might see faster loading times for joining Campaigns and TEs. Campaigns should be able to run longer, etc, etc. Basic stability.

3. A ton of minor bug fixes that enhance stability.


What you can do:

FLY IT! Test it as much as possible. Try to break it. If you find something that breaks, go back to SP3 and try to break it in the same way. Report what you find on the forums (either in BMS Bug reports or some other forum like Frugals or F4C and the like). Right now, we need a ton of MP data in order to tell us whether one fix was worth it or not. We need a variety of testing done. From the highly stable regimented squads with set-in-stone MP procedures, to Joe and Bill hooking up for a random game over the net.

Future:

There are many more things to test and fix. We plan to continue this series to hammer out as many MP bugs as possible in the short time frame we have.

Καλά τα λέει ο μάστορις αλλά είναι σε SP3. Μας πάει δηλ 2 χρόνια πίσω το παλουκάρι.
Εσείς πετάτε online κανα campaign? υπάρχει κάποιο πρόβλημα στο MP? Το Ramp start παίζει? Πόσoι έχετε σηκωθεί ταυτόχρονα και με τι συνδέσεις? Ο server έδινε εγγυημένο bw??? είχατε lag?
Αν υπάρχει τόσο τρομερό πρόβλημα τότε θα πρέπει να βρεθεί κάποια λύση.

Σιγουρα εχει βγει αυτο. Καπου θυμαμαι οτι το ειχα κατεβασει αλλα δεν το βρισκω τωρα. Ειχα διαβασει παλιοτερα οτι θα ηταν τελειο να συνδυαστουν τα θετικα αυτου του exe με το BMS οπως ειχε γινει παλιοτερα με το eFalcon και τα Realism Patches ωστε να βγει ενα πολυ καλυτερο exe...
