PHANTOM UPGRADE, SUPER PHANTOM!

have been very intrigued with the 3rd generation upgrades performed on the Phantom by operators such as Israel, Germany, Greece, and Turkey. Also of interest to me was the YF-4E used to test fly-by-wire concepts and canards. To be able to fly combat online F-4's have to be able to fly with the avionics of the 21st century.

The possibilities include the following,

*Fly-by-wire flight control system

*Canards

*Pratt&Whiney PW1120 turbofans (These engines are known to actually let the F-4 supercruise)

*1100 gallon conformal fuel tank

*Norden Senthetic Apeture radar

*A one piece windscreen (I have decided not to do this with my sim, in order to keep the classic Phantom look)

*AMRAAM missiles

*Multi function displays

*Wide angle heads-up display

*New IFF system

*Helmit mounted sight and AIM 9X missiles.

*New air data computer and flight control system that will not let the pilot fly beyond aircraft limits.

With these upgrades the F-4 has performance nearly equal to the F-15 Eagle, and is some cases it is even better.

Νομίζω πως δεν ασχολήθηκε η MC DONNEL DOUGLAS με το συγκεκριμένο πρόγραμμα με το σκεπτικό πως το SUPER PHANTOM θα λειτουργούσε ανταγωνιστικά με το F-15 που είχε σε ανάπτυξη εκείνη την εποχή

στην 1η φώτο πάντως φέρνει σε 4ης γενιάς Vigen or EF2000

Στην αρχή το πέρασα για photoshop. Ωστόσο είναι αλήθεια. από το παλίο φαντομάκι έμεινε μόνο το σασι!!!

Τελικά τι έγινε με το project?
